The Boat That Wasn't In Any Registry

My wife doesn't fully believe this one and I don't blame her, but I need it somewhere outside my own head. Out on the water near Traverse City, engine dead and no cell signal, a boat appeared out of nowhere to help just as the weather turned, and when I tried to look them up afterward using the name on their hull, nothing matched anywhere in the marina registry. In the moment, though, I remember feeling completely certain I hadn't been forgotten out there, that whatever sent that boat knew exactly where I was before I called for anyone. I'm not superstitious. I don't know what else to make of it.
