A man in Los Angeles -- the newspaper never recorded his name -- was in the middle of ordinary evening worship at home with his family when he was overwhelmed by what he could only describe as a baptism of love: a compassion so intense it was almost too sweet to bear. What stayed with him was the contrast: everything in his old habits of criticizing people fell away, replaced by love he insisted he could not have produced himself.

A man in Los Angeles, whose name the paper did not record, received this experience during family worship in his own home. In his words: "It was a baptism of love. Such abounding love! Such compassion seemed to almost kill me with its sweetness! People do not know what they are doing when they stand out against it. The devil never gave me a sweet thing, he was always trying to get me to censuring people. This baptism fills us with divine love."
