Groceries On The Porch

My neighbor and I finally talked properly last week after years of just waving, and telling her this story is what got us there. Struggling to keep up with my elderly mother's care alone in Lubbock, I found groceries left quietly on my porch every week for two months from someone who never signed a note or asked for thanks. I remember standing on that porch the first week feeling certain, before I even opened the bag, that I hadn't been left to carry this alone, that something was watching out for me even in the smallest way. I found out eventually it was her, and I still don't know how to fully repay what that meant to me, or to the thing that moved her to do it.
