A Flyer On A Bulletin Board

I've thought about writing this one for a while and the holiday finally pushed me to sit down and do it. Volunteering at a shelter in Savannah wasn't something I planned. I just showed up once because a flyer caught my eye in a way that felt less like noticing and more like being stopped, something in me recognizing the work before I understood why, like I'd been led there rather than simply deciding to go. Three years later I run the intake desk. I still don't fully know how to explain what clicked that first day, only that it felt like an answer to a question I hadn't asked yet.
