Calm in the Car

I had a bad appointment with my doctor and was just sitting in the car afterward, radio off, hands still on the wheel. Something like calm climbed in next to me that didn't come from me at all. Stayed a few minutes, then left the same quiet way it showed up. Drove home, made dinner like normal. Nothing dramatic about any of it. I still think about those few minutes more than almost anything else that happened that whole year.
