Something Noticed

Bell Rock trail, halfway up, I sat down on a rock and something happened that I've carried around for eight months without anywhere to put it. I felt noticed. That's the only word. Like I had been walking through my life invisible and something looked directly at me. It lasted maybe thirty seconds. I got up and kept hiking and drove home and made dinner and didn't say anything to anybody. Eight months I've been waiting for a place to write that down.
